Omega Plus 3+6+9
Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (so-called polyunsaturated fatty acids) cannot be produced naturally in the human body and have to be supplemented through diet. For a healthy body, an adequate supply of omega-3 fatty acids is important. Omega Plus 3+6+9 contains linseed oil, sesame oil, evening primrose oil and sunflower oil in balanced proportion and from controlled organic cultivation.
Biochemical function:
Fatty acids are a basic component of the cell membrane. Each of our 50 billion cells is surrounded by a membrane, independent of its position in the body or its function. In addition, even within cells, the most important organelles (diminutive of organs) are surrounded by membranes, like e.g. the nucleus and the mitochondria. Neither the entire cell nor the organelles within are able to perform their function without a healthy membrane structure.
Fatty acids are also needed to produce eicosanoids (e.g. prostaglandins) - hormone-like substances acting as signalling molecules and as moderators facilitating a variety of processes in the body.
Natural sources:
The particularly important omega-3 fatty acids are mainly found in fish (notably cold water fish) and vegetable oils (notably linseed oil).

Note:
